Now in its second year, the Red Barn Community Garden, on the grounds of the Red Barn in Holden, has been newly expanded. Additional plots are available this season. Some of the new plots have already been spoken for, but two are still available.

For more information about the Red Barn Community Garden, please contact us.

For those who enjoy gardening but are not up to caring for a garden all season all by yourself, there is another opportunity at the Red Barn. The Friends of the Red Barn are looking for volunteers who enjoy flower gardening to help maintain the lily beds and other ornamental plantings along Shrewsbury Street in front of the barn. Day lilies planted two years ago should produce a good showing of flowers this year. To keep them looking their best, the beds will need weeding and mulching. The Friends hope to create a team of volunteer gardeners to keep the grounds beautiful during the growing season.

To learn more about this volunteer gardening opportunity, please contact us.
